About the School of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE)
The materials department of Peking University was established in 2005 and now has been ranked top 1.2‱ of ESI, the 6th of US News, the 16th of QS by subject in the world.

Overview of PKU "M-Talents" Summer School
In order to expand student exchange with international partner universities, MSE launched the“M-Talents Summer School”program in 2023, offering premium courses and institute tours related to materials science, advanced engineering, etc, to overseas undergraduates from all over the world.This program will provide extensive and in-depth Chinese-foreign cultural exchange events and cultural activities.
Courses offered
1.Lectures on frontier discipline and laboratory visits
2.Research institute visits and exchanges
3.Enterprise visits and workshops
4.Elementary Chinese language course
5.Culture excursions
Language
Both English and Chinese (Depending on the applicant's language proficiency)
Application Prerequisites
1.The program will last from July 7, 2024 to July 20, 2024.
NOTE:
The first week is for high school graduates, and the second week is for undergraduate students.
2.Applicants must be high-school graduates who are interested in science and engineering or undergraduates with a background in science and engineering.
3.For English-based programs, applicants whose mother tongue is not English are required to submit TOEFL, iBT or IELTS scores or other certificates to prove their English proficiency.
For Chinese-based programs, applicants whose mother tongue is not Chinese are required to submit HSK4 scores or other certificates to prove their Chinese language proficiency.

2. Register your account with your email address and log in.
NOTE:
When signing up, please ensure that the email address you provide is valid. After successfully signing up, a confirmation email will be sent to the registered email address, and following announcements associated with the programwill be sent to the corresponding email address.
3. Click on Application, then enter the 2024 PKU 'M-Talents' Summer School and click Submit.
4. Fill in all the required information.
NOTE:
For Basic Information, please upload a headshot photo with dimensions of 640*480px in JPG/BNP/GIF/PNG format and with a file size of less than 1 MB.
5. Submit your application.
After submitting the online application, please wait for the admission confirmation. You can check the registration status in the application system.
Payment
Registration feesare free.Tuition feesareas follows.
-US$ 600 forself-funded students.
-US$ 100 forscholarship students. (If your resume is excellent, we will send you an email that shows you are the scholarship student.)
The above feesexclude air ticket expenses. Accommodations in Beijing (double room),registration, meals, courses, cultural excursions and social activities are included in the program fee. Peking University students do not need to pay fees, but accommodation and meals need to be borne by themselves.
Insurance
International students are required to purchase localor global insurance covering the program period according to national regulations and school requirements.
