长期从事电能源化学、材料与关键技术研究。提出了材料应变调控催化理念,揭示了材料应变、电荷与催化的构效关联,创制了高效氢能催化剂体系,开发出自主产权国际领先水平的电解制氢和燃料电池器件,显著提升了氢电能源转换效率,推动了应变催化理念在燃料电池、氢能等领域的应用。
