(I) Conference Introduction
The 2024 Peking University "Boya M-Talents" International Doctoral Students Academic Forum will be held at Peking University (referred as PKU) from October 25 to 27, 2024. With the topic of "AI for Materials", through expert reports, sub-forums, and poster exchanges, this forum solicits the latest academic achievements from outstanding doctoral students worldwide. It aims to discuss academic frontiers, exchange scientific research results, and look forward to the future development trend of artificial intelligence (AI) driven the materials discipline.
With the rapid development of AI technology, it has become a powerful engine for promoting scientific progress. AI for Science (AI4S) is specifically applied through "scientific big data + large-scale computing power + high-performance models". In the field of materials science, which is full of challenges and opportunities, AI is unveiling layers of mystery for researchers with its unique perspective and ability. From predicting the transition state structure of chemical reactions to designing molecules for organic electronics applications, and from exploring the stability of new materials to realizing automated experiments, the application of AI is constantly broadening our cognitive boundaries.
In this context, the School of Materials Science and Engineering (referred as MSE) of PKU, with strong support from the Graduate School, holds this international doctoral students academic forum to provide a platform for young scholars for ideological collisions and academic exchanges, and jointly create a new era of artificial intelligence helping the development of materials disciplines.
Young scholars with in-depth research in the field of emerging materials are welcome to actively contribute.
