PhD candidate Li Nengxu from the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Peking University, has won the 2022 Chemical, Chemical Engineering, and Materials Chambroad Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Gold Award

On April 28th, the award ceremony for the 2022 Chambroad Technology Award and the 5thIndustry-Education Integration Development Forum were held at OceanFlower Island International Convention & Exhibition Center, Hainan.

Li Nengxu’s doctoral dissertation “Controllable Preparation of High-Quality Perovskite Thin Films and High-Performance Photovoltaic Devices” (supervised by Professor Zhou Huanping) received the 2022 Chemical, Chemical Engineering, and Materials Chambroad Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Gold Award.

In addition, the doctoral dissertation “Study on Oxygen Valency and Stability of Lithium-rich Manganese-based Cathode Materials” by Liu Jiajie (supervised by Professor Pan Feng) from the School of Materials Science and Engineering (SMSE, Shenzhen) has been nominated for the 2022 Chemical, Chemical Engineering, and Materials Chambroad Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award. The doctoral dissertation “Narrow-Bandgap Fused-Ring Electron Acceptors: Molecular Design and Photovoltaic Properties” by Li Tengfei (supervised by Professor Zhan Xiaowei) from SMSE has been nominated for the 2021 Chemical, Chemical Engineering, and Materials Chambroad Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award.

Intheacceptance speech for the 2022 Dissertation Award, Professor Zhou Huanping, the award-winner’s supervisor, stated that she will continue to work hard and contribute to the technological development of China in future research!

The Chambroad Technology Award is sponsored by Shandong Chambroad Holding Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Chambroad”) and hosted by the Chinese Chemical Society. It aims to encourage and recognize scientific and technological workers who have made outstanding contributions in the fields of chemistry, chemical engineering, and materials science, and to consolidate scientific research forces for the progress of industry technology and transformational upgrading. The Industry-Education Integration Development Forum strives to carry out innovative models of production-education integration co-cultivation with a focus on cultivating specialized talents through moral education while promoting high-quality industrial development through transforming and incubating scientific research achievements.

The Chambroad Technology Award includes four sub-awards: the Chambroad Technology Excellence Award, the Chambroad Technology Innovation Award, the Chambroad Technology Progress Award, and the Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, and Materials Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award (Gold Award, Silver Award, Bronze Award, Outstanding Award, Nomination Award). Among them, 1-2 gold awards are set for the Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Materials Excellent Doctoral Dissertation Award with a prize of 500 thousand yuan. The selection criteria are as follows: (1) The dissertations relating to professional research fields involving basic disciplines or engineering disciplines at the forefront of chemistry science and technology or materials science and engineering and have important theoretical value or significant application prospects; (2) Research projects/topics have produced certain scientific/technological/economic/social/cultural values. The scientific value focuses on evaluating the original contributions of new discoveries/principles/methods. Technological value focuses on evaluating major technological inventions with outstanding effects in solving key common technical problems in industries or major technological innovation difficulties faced by enterprises especially those related to core technologies. Economic value focuses on evaluating potential impacts such as promotion prospects/expected benefits/potential risks on economic development/industries. Social value focuses on evaluating effectiveness in solving major bottleneck issues related to people’s health/ecological environment etc. Cultural value focuses on evaluating influences/contributions in advocating scientists’ spirit/building innovative culture/promoting socialist core values etc.
